This time, Malaika, portrayed by the talented Sonal Panwar, takes an exciting turn as she embraces her Desi Girl avatar, promising an unexpected twist to the audience.
In the show, Malaika is known for her tomboyish character, frequently irritated by her elder sister and a friend she considers a bother. However, she also shares playful moments with Kamlesh. Malaika stands out as one of the few level-headed individuals in the Singh household. But now, in an intriguing storyline, viewers will be in for a delightful surprise as they witness her transformation into a complete desi diva.
Sonal Panwar, who plays Malaika, shares her excitement about this exciting turn of events. “My character in the show is a tomboy, but this time, the viewers will see me in an entirely different light,” she reveals. “Following an incident where a guy comments on her boyish behavior and deeply upsets her, Kate, portrayed by Gazal Sood, decides to boost Malaika’s confidence by giving her a makeover. She also persuades Kamlesh, played by Sanjay Chaudhary, to disguise himself and take Malaika out on a date. The twist unfolds as Malaika starts developing feelings for him.”
Panwar continues, “Our show always has something thrilling and entertaining in store for our audience. I had an absolute blast shooting this track. I always wanted to portray the Desi Girl character, and this storyline gave me that opportunity. Transforming into this glamorous avatar, complete with costumes, makeup, and accessories, was a new and enjoyable experience. It was a delightful departure from the usual. However, in real life, my personality is similar to Malaika’s, so wearing traditional attire like sarees and salwar kameez was both challenging and intriguing for me. Shooting the grooming and romantic dance sequences with Gazal Sood and Sanjay Chaudhary was pure fun. This track made me feel like a princess, just like in the film ‘Princess Diaries’ I loved as a child. I adore dancing, and any storyline involving dance sequences always brings me joy. I am sure people will love my Desi Girl avatar!”
