Speaking about her love for cricket, Geetanjali, aka Rajesh, shared, “Being an actor, my life revolves around scripts, sets, and rehearsals. But amidst this chaos, there’s one thing that brings me immense joy – cricket. The glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry fade away when I step onto the cricket field. It’s not just a hobby; it’s a cherished escape, a way to reconnect with the purity of the sport. The sound of the willow meeting the leather, the camaraderie amongst teammates, the thrill of the chase – there’s something magical about it all.”
“Whether it’s a casual Sunday afternoon game with friends or a more organized match, the joy of playing cricket is unparalleled. Despite my busy schedule, I always make time for it. It’s not about competition or exercise; it’s simply the pleasure of immersing myself in something I love. Cricket keeps me grounded, reminding me of the importance of balance and appreciating life’s simple joys. So, whether I’m facing the camera or holding a cricket bat, my passion for both these worlds remains constant, each bringing me fulfilment in its unique way,” she added.
A Shared Love for Tea Leads to a Special Meeting
Geetanjali also revealed how her love for cricket led her to meet Venkatesh Iyer. “Cricket always throws surprises my way, and one such delightful surprise was meeting Venkatesh Iyer. I’ve always admired his cricketing skills, and during a cricket league training camp in Mumbai last year, I finally got to see them in action! What struck a chord with me the most, however, was our shared love for tea. We both opted for a simple cup of chai at a roadside stall over fancy options at a five-star restaurant. This spoke volumes about Venkatesh’s humility, a quality I deeply admire. I’ve always been drawn to people who stay grounded despite their achievements, and Venkatesh is a perfect example of that. In fact, I once even made a special trip to Pune just to watch MS Dhoni play!”
