Actor Ishaan Singh Manhas, who recently appeared in the web series “Raisinghani vs Raisinghani,” shares his perspective on the entourage culture in the entertainment industry. Manhas emphasizes the importance of balance when it comes to having a support team on set.
“The entourage culture can be a double-edged sword,” says Manhas. “While having a team of assistants, hair and makeup artists, and social media managers can boost productivity and allow actors to focus on their performances, it can also create logistical challenges and disrupt the set atmosphere. Balancing the needs of the production with budget constraints and maintaining a positive working environment is crucial.”
Manhas also acknowledges the growing role of social media in an actor’s career. “Social media is essential for promoting projects and connecting with fans. Having a social media manager to create content can enhance an actor’s online presence and engage the audience effectively. However, it’s important to use social media responsibly and find a balance between promoting work and maintaining authenticity.”
Reflecting on his own approach, Manhas reveals, “I don’t like bringing any assistants on set. After almost a decade in this industry, I prefer doing my makeup and hair styling myself because I know what suits me best.”
He adds, “A large entourage can sometimes disrupt the set’s atmosphere if not managed properly. Actors have different preferences regarding personal space and privacy. It’s important to respect each other’s boundaries and maintain a harmonious working environment. Clear communication and mutual respect among all team members are key to creating a positive and productive atmosphere on set.”
