In a significant breakthrough, the Udaipur police exposed a rigged gang involved in fraudulent activities at petrol pumps. Leading the charge in this successful operation was Police Officer Himanshu Singh Rajawat of the Pratapnagar police station. Three members of the gang were arrested, and an Alto car used in their criminal activities was seized.
As soon as information about the gang’s activities came to light, the Pratapnagar police station launched an intensive search for the culprits. Under the guidance of Police Officer Mr. Manjit Singh and Deputy Superintendent of Police Mrs. Shipra Rajawat, Mr. Himanshu Singh Rajawat and his team worked tirelessly to apprehend the suspects.
The police received crucial information, and during their search, they detained Sauni Shri Parvat Singh May Jabta Kani Ramswaroop no. 314 and Kani Shankar Lal no. 3099, both of whom were suspected to be involved in the incident.
The three accused were identified as follows:

- Mahendra Singh, aged 29, belonging to the Rajput community and working as a driver, residing in Bichhweda Sagavto, Udaipur.
- Rajendra Singh, aged 21, a photographer residing in Bichhweda Hirawat, Udaipur.
- Arjun Singh, aged 30, working as a welder and residing in Bichhweda Sagawaton, Udaipur.
During interrogation, all three confessed to their involvement in the rigged gang’s activities, leading to their immediate arrest according to the legal procedures.
The gang had devised a cunning plan to evade payments at petrol pumps. They used an Alto car with a different number plate (RJ 27 CL 3923) to carry out their activities. Before heading to the petrol pump, they covered the original number 1 on the car’s plate with a sticker showing the number 8. Then, late at night, they would visit a deserted petrol pump and deceive the pump attendant by claiming that their L&T (tanker) was running or that their diesel was exhausted. Subsequently, they filled large plastic drums with diesel, which they had brought along, and also got petrol filled in the car used for the crime. After this, they would quickly escape from the petrol pump without paying for the fuel.
The police investigation revealed that the gang had pulled off similar scams at three other petrol pumps in the area, all of which involved cheating on the number plate of their Alto car.
The police authorities consider this operation a major success in ensuring public safety and have commended Himanshu Singh Rajawat’s efforts in leading the charge against the rigged gang. The arrested accused will now face judicial proceedings to face appropriate punishment for their crimes.
With the arrest of the gang members and the seizure of their vehicle, the Udaipur police have sent a strong message to potential criminals involved in fuel theft, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining law and order in the region.
