The 13-year-old girl’s name is Kirtana. It is also reported that Suresh also pushed his wife Suhasini and one-year-old daughter Jersi into the river. Suhasini and Jersi went missing in the river, but Kirtana managed to hang on to a cable near the bridge.
Saved by Hanging on to the Cable
It is said that Kirtana grabbed the cable tightly and then dialed 100 from her phone. Upon hearing the girl’s call, the police immediately took action and rescued the girl hanging from the bridge with the help of police and highway mobile teams. This incident took place on August 6. According to the police, around 3:30 AM on Sunday, the girl called Dial 100.
The Girl Informs the Police Herself
According to the police, the girl explained that her father had pushed her, but luckily, she got hold of a plastic pipe below the bridge, which allowed her to hang there. While her father, Suresh, had pushed her mother and younger sister into the river, and both went missing, Kirtana managed to hang on to the cable. As soon as the Bakaul Police received the information, the Raavalapalem Police took immediate action and reached the spot with their personnel around 4 AM, where the girl was hanging from the pipeline in a precarious condition.
Rescue Operation and Search for Mother and Daughter
After receiving the information from the girl, the police formed two teams and began searching the Godavari River with the help of boats to find both the mother and daughter. It is reported that the accused, Suresh, is also on the run. The police are deploying teams in different directions to arrest him. “
