Happu Ki Ultan Paltan: A Dance Dilemma
In a special Independence Day track, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan brings a hilarious twist to the celebration. Yogesh Tripathi, who plays Daroga Happu Singh, shares the details: “Happu is tasked by the Commissioner (played by Kishore Bhanushali) to invite a classical dancer for the 15th August function, which will be attended by a Minister. Happu, impressed by a courtesan’s performance, books her for the event. Meanwhile, at home, Rajesh (Geetanjali Mishra) reminisces about her old Kathak awards, inspiring her daughters Malaika (Sonal Panwar) and Chamchi (Zara Warsi) to encourage her to dance again.
When the Commissioner notices Rajesh’s dance, he selects her for the program, which excites Rajesh. This puts Happu in a pickle, as he has to cancel the courtesan, but she refuses and starts blackmailing them. The situation takes a comical turn as Happu, unable to resolve the issue, decides to perform the classical dance himself, disguised as a woman. The performance goes smoothly until his wig falls off, exposing his true identity, leading to a hilarious conclusion.”
Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai: A Cultural Clash
In Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, the Independence Day celebration takes a quirky turn as the characters grapple with the clash between Indian (Swadeshi) and foreign (Videshi) cultures. Shubhangi Atre, who plays Angoori Bhabi, gives us a sneak peek: “The story revolves around Anita (Vidisha Srivastava), who supports foreign culture and plans to move to London with her husband, Vibhuti (Aasif Sheikh), once she secures a job there. This decision shocks Tiwari (Rohitashv Gour), who, along with Angoori, advocates for Swadeshi culture.
Tiwari’s attempts to persuade Anita to stay fail, leading to a hilarious situation where he gets drunk and calls Anita and Vibhuti traitors. The next day, Anita’s boss Anderson visits for dinner, and under pressure, everyone behaves like the British. However, Anderson surprises them all by expressing his preference for Indian culture, not fake foreigners, leading to a funny and patriotic resolution.”
