Driven by a strong sense of social responsibility, Geetanjali shared her motivation, “Contributing to the well-being of society holds immense beauty. It compels me to reflect on my individual impact and how my actions can create positive change within the community. During the peak of the pandemic, my domestic helper expressed her struggles to meet basic needs. I provided her with essential supplies, believing that ‘charity begins at home.’ This experience opened my eyes to the similar struggles faced by many families in her community. Determined to help, I started providing comprehensive ration kits, including food staples and hygiene items, while ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Despite the challenges, I remained committed to aiding those in need, regardless of location. It was a demanding period, but the opportunity to positively impact lives fueled my resolve.”
Geetanjali’s focus wasn’t just on financial aid, but on addressing essential needs. “Instead of merely offering financial assistance,” she explains, “I prioritized fulfilling basic requirements. I collaborated with online platforms to deliver ration kits across various states, investing nearly 25 lakhs from my savings. Throughout this journey, I held onto the belief that ‘what we earn on earth is for the people in need today. We can always earn more, and our actions are recorded by a higher power.’ This philosophy guided me to use my resources to meet immediate needs, rather than simply offering financial support.”
