Rajeev Bhardwaj Embraces Challenging Cop Role in “Honeymoon Suite 911”

Actor Rajeev Bhardwaj, known for his versatile roles in Subhash Ghai’s “Jaanaki” and films like “Super Nani,” takes on a captivating new challenge as the lead cop in the web series “Honeymoon Suite 911.” Bhardwaj, who has portrayed the role of Chandragupt Maurya in the theatre play “Chanakya” for the past 14 years, expresses his excitement for playing a key investigative role in the mystery thriller.

In “Honeymoon Suite 911,” Bhardwaj essays the character of Balwinder Singh, affectionately known as Balli. Describing his character, he shares, “My role is that of the main investigative cop. I was attracted to this role because of its mysterious nature. He is honest, daring, and strong. He is threatened, pressurized to ignore the wrong things that are happening. Yet he is the one who fights the nexus of police with criminals to unfold and solves the deep mystery behind this thriller web series.”

Expressing his love for cop roles, Bhardwaj notes, “A cop role well-written is always challenging and enchanting. I have always enjoyed portraying the roles in uniform, especially a cop, for the behavioral layers this role offers as a character. This Balwinder Singh – Balli’s character is smart, quirky, and a no-nonsense cop when it comes to crime. I loved this the most and can relate to it.”

On working in the OTT medium, he shares, “Web series is an exciting medium. It is finite, gives scope to the artist and maker to expand our thought horizon while telling the story. Every web series has its target audience, and that is encouraging as an artist. I want to film another series and also want to be part of a feature film.”

Reflecting on his journey in the industry, Bhardwaj offers advice to aspiring artists: “It’s an amazing industry. You work on your skill set, your craft, and the industry will surely value you.
