Mumbai : Renowned actress Aneesha Madhok is basking in the glory of her recent Hollywood venture, “Bully High,” which has not only captivated audiences but also earned her the prestigious Best Actress award at the Mumbai International Film Festival. The film, despite sharing the spotlight with blockbusters like Barbie and Oppenheimer, has carved its niche in the competitive Hollywood landscape.
Aneesha Madhok, who plays the compelling role of Maryam in “Bully High,” a character grappling with discrimination and combating violence with love, expressed her elation and gratitude for the overwhelming response the film has garnered. “So, I am really grateful that I am in theatres in America while I sit in India and interview,” she shares.
In preparation for her role as Maryam, Aneesha adopted a method acting approach, immersing herself in the character’s pain before the commencement of shooting. “For the role of Maryam, I went completely by method as I wanted to embody that pain before I even started shooting. Now back in India, Aneesha is eager to contribute to the art of filmmaking, drawing inspiration from Iranian cinema, given her proficiency in Persian. She aims to infuse subtlety and nuance into the films she will be a part of. “Art mirrors reality and can impact lives—I’m all for it,” she remarked, emphasizing her commitment to the transformative power of cinema.
As Aneesha Madhok continues to make waves on the global cinematic stage, her success with “Bully High” marks a significant milestone in her career, and fans eagerly anticipate her future endeavors that promise to be as impactful and inspiring as her award-winning performance.
