In a surprising move, popular television actress Shubhangi Atre, known for her role as Angoori Bhabhi in the hit show ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain’, has recently gotten her first tattoo. What makes this tattoo special is its deep spiritual significance.
Tattoos are often seen as a form of artistic expression, but for Shubhangi, it held a much deeper meaning. After contemplating the idea for nearly 15 years, she finally took the plunge and got herself inked, and the tattoo holds a profound spiritual message for her.
Speaking about her decision, Shubhangi said, “Tattoos are powerful mediums of self-expression. I had been considering getting my first tattoo for almost two decades. The desire to have a permanent artistic representation on my skin, connected to my identity, stemmed from a unique longing. It held immense importance for me, as it would stay with me throughout my life.”
After a long wait, the day finally arrived when Shubhangi got herself a beautiful tattoo featuring the symbol of ‘Om’ and a lotus flower. Both symbols hold deep significance for her. The ‘Om’ represents her devotion to Lord Shiva, whom she deeply reveres, while the lotus symbolizes good health. These symbols also embody the essence of yoga, which has nourished her mental and physical well-being.
Expressing her joy, Shubhangi stated, “Now that I have taken this step and got my tattoo, I am extremely happy. It has boosted my self-esteem and brought a renewed enthusiasm towards life.”
Shubhangi credits her daughter Aashi for fulfilling her long-held desire. She shared, “When Aashi was preparing for her higher education journey in the United States, I wanted to spend quality time with her before she left. That’s when we planned a memorable trip to Goa, where Aashi convinced me to embrace my desire for a tattoo, something I had always wanted. In this process, there were several attempts; I initially hesitated and left the studio three times. However, Aashi not only supported me in selecting the design but also understood my preferences when I struggled to convey my imagination to the tattoo artist.”
The talented tattoo artist skillfully created the ‘Om’ symbol, representing the highest consciousness, masculinity, and the divine, followed by a meticulously crafted lotus flower, symbolizing purity, enlightenment, and a fresh beginning, transforming life’s struggles into valuable lessons.
Although the tattooing process took only about twenty minutes, the experience provided Shubhangi with a sense of permanence. The emotions cannot be adequately described in words. She felt a surge of vitality, freedom, and success. The tattoo has now become an integral part of her identity, and she proudly showcases it to others. She has already started envisioning her next tattoo, which will be dedicated to her beloved daughter as a testament to their unbreakable bond.
Shubhangi concluded, “For my next tattoo, I will once again rely on her for the design because she understands my emotions deeply and brings them to life with simplicity and spiritual essence.”
